Parent Organization

Our Parent Organization is comprised of all interested RPNS parents. There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the school year and we encourage you to participate!

Fundraising Events

Fall Parent Social – Annual Welcome Back Cocktail Party

This parent and staff event is held each fall. Enjoy an evening with friends combined with food, music, cocktails, and a silent auction. Volunteers are needed to organize and run various activities such as admissions, a giving tree, silent auction, food, and decorations.

Holiday Caroling Party

This family event is held on a Saturday each December to kick off the holiday season. Enjoy hayrides, a petting zoo, music, art activities, children’s raffle baskets, holiday raffles, refreshments, bake sale, a visit with Santa and holiday caroling. Volunteers are needed to organize and run the various activities during the party.

Pancake Breakfast and Book Fair

This family event is held on a Saturday each March and includes a pancake breakfast, book fair, musical entertainment, character photos and an art activity. Volunteers are needed to organize, cook, and run the various activities during the breakfast. Additional volunteers are needed to help set up a school book fair that begins a few days before the pancake breakfast.

Alumni Day

All current and former families are invited to attend our Alumni Day in the Spring. The event is for children of all ages and takes place on the great lawn. There are fun activities for the children, a performance by children's entertainer, Lou Del Bianco, a BBQ lunch, and an ice cream truck. Volunteers help coordinate the event.

Caring & Sharing Programs

Our relationship with New Rochelle Children’s Center for Learning, which serves low income families of Westchester, has grown to great proportions with the support of parents and staff. Volunteers are needed to organize and transport gifts, as well as deliver children’s books and clothing donations.

Holiday Pals Committee

Our parents may sign up to purchase gifts for the children of the New Rochelle Children’s Center for Learning. Each child receives a book, a toy, and an article of clothing from our families in December. The committee delivers these gifts in time for the Center’s Holiday Party.

Birthday Pals Committee

Throughout the year, parents can sign up to buy a small gift for one of the children at the New Rochelle Children’s Center for Learning. The gift is packaged with party goods from RPNS and a cake from a local bakery and delivered to the Center for a special school celebration for each child.

Thanksgiving Caring and Sharing

Volunteers are needed to organize the food collected by RPNS families during Thanksgiving and transport it to the Carver Center in Port Chester and other local food pantries.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Class Parent

At RPNS, we value the involvement of our parents in many ways. Two parents are needed per class.

Class Parent Responsibilities include:

• Act as a liaison between teachers and parents.
• Organize a play date for the class in the late summer or the first days of school.

• Organize a fall coffee for the parents in your class.
• Call/email parents to support class and school events when needed.

Be a “Buddy” to a New Family

Each year RPNS welcomes new families into our community. Sign up to be a “Buddy” to a family and be available via phone or email to answer questions regarding our school. Your welcome will make a difference for new families!
